In a night filled with glitz, glamour, and global talent, the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards celebrated the very best of anime’s diverse and dynamic landscape. Hosted live from Tokyo, Japan, and broadcasted worldwide, the ceremony honored outstanding achievements in animation, storytelling, and performance.
The coveted title of Anime of the Year was awarded to “Jujutsu Kaisen,” a series that captivated audiences with its gripping narrative and dynamic action sequences. Additionally, the film “Suzume” soared to victory, claiming the title of Best Film.
The star-studded event featured an array of celebrity presenters, including recording artist Megan Thee Stallion, Japanese singer-songwriter Lisa, award-winning actress Iman Vellani, and acclaimed director Bong Joon Ho, among others.
With a staggering 34 million votes cast by fans globally, countries like Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Mexico, Spain, the United States, and more actively participated in determining the winners across various categories.
Notable winners included “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc” for Best Animation and “One Piece” for Best Continuing Series. “Chainsaw Man” emerged victorious as the Best New Series, while “Attack on Titan Final Season” received accolades for Best Drama and Best Score.
The ceremony also highlighted exceptional voice acting performances across multiple languages, showcasing the diverse talent within the industry.
Reflecting on the evening’s festivities, Crunchyroll’s Lauren Moore and Tim Lyu, along with content creator Lena Lemon, hosted a lively pre-show featuring performances by Grammy-nominated musician Porter Robinson and international DJ Aquaria, among others.
