CBS Studios, in collaboration with Innersloth, the developer behind the wildly popular video game Among Us, has announced a star-studded cast and production team for its upcoming animated series based on the game.
The series, which is currently without a confirmed outlet, will feature Randall Park, Ashley Johnson, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Elijah Wood lending their voices to the characters inside the iconic multi-colored spacesuits.
In this adaptation, Park, known for his roles in “WandaVision” and “Always Be My Maybe,” will voice Red, the affable yet assertive captain of the Skeld ship. Ashley Johnson, recognized for her work in “The Last of Us” video game and “Blindspot,” takes on the role of Purple, the ship’s sharp-witted and skeptical head of security. Yvette Nicole Brown, celebrated for her performances in “Community” and Apple’s “Central Park,” will portray Orange, the head of HR. Lastly, Elijah Wood, known for his roles in “Yellowjackets” and “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, will voice Green, portraying an unpaid intern aboard the spaceship.
Development on the Among Us animated series began in the summer of 2023 under the helm of CBS Studios and its animation arm, Eye Animation Productions. The animation itself is being handled by Titmouse, the studio behind hits like “Big Mouth” and “Star Trek: Lower Decks.” A teaser image for the show was released by Innersloth and CBS Studios in late January.
Owen Dennis, the creative mind behind “Infinity Train” and currently under an overall deal with CBS Studios, spearheads the creation of the Among Us series. Serving as executive producers alongside Dennis are Forest Willard, Marcus Bromander, and Carl Neisser from Innersloth, as well as Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina from Titmouse.
Fans of the game and animation enthusiasts alike are eagerly anticipating the launch of this highly anticipated series, which promises to bring the thrilling and suspenseful gameplay of Among Us to life in a whole new way.
