In an exciting development for cinephiles eagerly anticipating Jayam Ravi’s next venture, the upcoming fantasy drama “Genie” has announced a collaboration with renowned CGI company PhantomFX for its visual effects and CGI requirements. Directed by Arjunan, a protégé of esteemed filmmaker Mysskin, the film promises to take audiences on a magical journey.
“Genie” marks yet another departure for Jayam Ravi, who has been diversifying his portfolio with roles across various genres. This time, he ventures into the realm of fantasy under the direction of Arjunan, whose previous works as an assistant to Mysskin have garnered attention.
PhantomFX, notable for their exceptional work in the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer sci-fi comedy “Ayalaan,” joins the technical team of “Genie,” signaling a substantial investment in visual effects. The decision has sparked intrigue among fans, heightening anticipation for the cinematic experience that awaits.
Adding to the excitement, “Genie” boasts not one, but three female leads, featuring Krithi Shetty, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Wamiqa Gabbi in pivotal roles. Speculation abounds that Jayam Ravi may share on-screen chemistry with Krithi Shetty, who brings youthful energy to the project.

Under the production banner of Ishari Ganesh’s Vels International, “Genie” commenced filming in 2023 and currently awaits completion with one week of talkie portions and two songs left to shoot. Each song has been allocated ten days for meticulous production.
