Renowned Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli, celebrated globally for his epic cinematic ventures like “Baahubali” and “RRR,” is once again captivating audiences with a revisit to his acclaimed Baahubali franchise. The latest endeavor takes the form of an adult animated series titled “Baahubali: Crown of Blood,” with Disney+ Hotstar recently unveiling its compelling trailer.
According to a report by Variety, the upcoming show is a collaborative effort between Graphic India, Arka Mediaworks, and the creative minds of Rajamouli and Sharad Devarajan. Joining forces as producers are Rajamouli, Devarajan, and Shobu Yarlagadda, while direction and production credits for “Baahubali: Crown of Blood” go to Jeevan J. Kang and Navin John.
Prior to this animated series, Arka and Graphic India joined hands to produce five seasons of “Baahubali: The Lost Legends,” which enjoyed a successful run on Amazon Prime Video.
The live-action “Baahubali” film franchise featured a stellar cast including Prabhas as Shiva alias Mahendra Baahubali and Amarendra Baahubali, Rana Daggubati as Bhallala Deva, Sathyaraj as Kattappa, Anushka Shetty as Maharani Devasena, and Ramya Krishnan as Sivagami, among others, in pivotal roles.
“Baahubali: Crown of Blood” is set to premiere on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar starting May 17, continuing the rich narrative tapestry of the Mahishmati kingdom. Fans can anticipate a captivating extension to the beloved saga, promising to immerse them once more in the grandeur and intrigue of the Baahubali universe.
