Just in time for Friday the 13th, the highly anticipated teaser trailer for the supernatural stop-motion short Brim Broome Boulevard has been released. The film offers viewers a peek into a world where magic and haute couture collide in a mesmerizing tale of self-discovery. Selected for prestigious film festivals such as Newport Beach Film Fest, Out on Film, Portland Film Festival, and deadCenter Film Festival, the short promises to be a standout in the animation genre.
In Brim Broome Boulevard, a child stumbles through mysterious doors, embarking on a transformative journey where fear and fashion become intertwined in a surreal, otherworldly adventure. The short marks the directorial debut of multi-talented creative PJ Magerko-Liquorice, who worked closely with fashion house Wiederhoeft to design the film’s stunning miniature wardrobe.
The stop-motion animation team includes top industry professionals who previously worked on acclaimed films like Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Wendell & Wild, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Animation was led by Kirk Kelley, Chief Creative Officer and Director at HouseSpecial, alongside lead animator Anthony Scott, renowned for his work on iconic stop-motion projects. Costume fabrication was headed by Thalia Lane, whose resume includes celebrated films such as Corpse Bride, Frankenweenie, and Kubo and the Two Strings.
The film’s creative team also features Jordan Millington Liquorice as creative director, with costume, fashion, and character design by Jackson Wiederhoeft. Executive producers Elizabeth Murphy and Julie Ragland, both known for their work on Wendell & Wild, round out the team behind this captivating stop-motion experience.
